Insurance and Cost

Cost per Session

50 Minute Sessions - $175

90 Minute Sessions - $270

90-minute sessions are recommended for individual intakes and couple therapy intakes.

90-minute EMDR sessions can also be beneficial and scheduled as needed.

90-minutes may be a better option for people that are not able to meet weekly or biweekly due to financial barriers.

Insurance

I am not in-network with any insurance companies and cannot bill your insurance for services.

If you would like to use out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill to obtain reimbursement from your insurance. Please contact your insurance company directly to inquire about your benefits.

Payment is due the day of your appointment and charged to the credit card on file.

Couple therapy and 90-minute sessions are rarely reimbursed.

There are benefits to not using insurance including being able to provide services to folks that don’t meet diagnostic criteria, as is often the case in couple and sex therapy, and allows for greater confidentiality.

When is it better to book 90-minute sessions?

For Individual Therapy & Sex Therapy

Faster Intake Process

*Recommended when you are unable to start with weekly sessions.

The intake process usually requires two 50-minute sessions to collect background history and sexual history. You can condense this to one 90-minute session when you are unable to meet weekly to start or would like a longer intake session.

EMDR

You can request 90-minute sessions if you would like to go deeper in your EMDR processing. I may recommend this as well especially if you are unable to meet weekly.

For Relationship/Couples Therapy

More Thorough Intake

*Recommended when you have been with your partner for over 7 years and there is a long history to your presenting issue.

The first appointment includes an assessment of your relationship history and 90-minutes can allow me to learn more about each perspective and explore strengths and challenges throughout your time together.

Individual Intake

*Recommended when you are unable to start with weekly sessions.

Couples therapy usually requires at least 3 intake sessions to gather information about the relationship and each individual partner. Partners can split a 90-minute session instead of doing two 50-minute sessions for the individual history part of the intake process.

Ongoing

If you feel that 50-minutes is not enough time or progress feels slow especially if you are only meeting every other week, it may be helpful to book 90-minute sessions ongoing or once in a while. Subject to availability.
